34 weeks 5 days
Well, we are in the final stretch of this pregnancy and I have to say, this mommy is ready! I have been feeling great and Kira appears to be very healthy. It wasn't until this weekend that I hit the "I am so ready for this to be over" phase. I think I am just tired in general and anxious to meet our sweet baby girl.
At a recent OB/GYN appointment the doctor put me on weekly ultrasound and non-stress test visits. I am not in any high risk or danger and neither is Kira. He is was just airing on the side of caution due to my medical history of high blood pressure. In the last few weeks of pregnancy is when high blood pressure can creep up and cause problems for mommy and baby. So, Dr. Baiza has decided he will just monitor everything to make sure we are both good. My bp has been fantastic at every appointment and he is pleased with how well things are going.
It's hard to believe that in just 2 weeks I will be 37 weeks, considered full term and able to deliver at anytime. Last week was the family baby shower put on by my amazing mom and sisters and friends. I cannot say how blessed we are to be surrounded by such loving, caring and giving people. Matt and I both were a little sad to know his mom wasn't here for this, but we know she is looking down on us and rejoicing for her little granddaughter.
My class at school is getting anxious to meet the baby as well. They ask everyday how many more days till she comes. I didn't think I would be, but I am a little sad to leave them for a few weeks. I have a pretty great class this year. But I know they will be in the best hands possible!
More updates as the time for baby girl gets closer and closer!!
And Baby makes 3!!!

About 8 weeks till we get to meet our baby girl!!
Sept. 12, 2012
31 Weeks 5 days
Just wanted to update everyone on life in the Borck house. Yesterday we had another ultrasound for baby girl. She is one stubborn little cookie. They really needed a different view of her heart from the one they already have, and she would not move or reposition for any reason. So, now I get to have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to see if we can get the view they need. She is doing great. She is 3lbs 12 oz so far.
I will also get to have ultrasounds for the rest of my OB appointments due to my history of high blood pressure before my weight loss. My BP has been great the whole pregnancy, but the doctor would rather be safe. He has scheduled a stress test every time I come as well.
We are just trying to get everything ready for the baby. This weekend will be a deep cleaning of the house and washing what clothes we do have for her. On Sunday we start round 1 of our birthing classes and round 2 will be the following Sunday. We also meet with a pediatrician next week. We are getting excited, anxious, and nervous all at the same time.
I will try to keep my blog updated as things come and go. Teaching and my master's classes are keeping me pretty busy, so I use any and all down time to sleep now. I am sure that I will not be doing much of that in the weeks coming up.

28 weeks down...only 12 to go!!!
Sunday, August 19
28 Weeks 2 days
It's been a long time since I posted. Guess I will catch you up on happenings with baby Kira. So far everything is going great. She is a growing, healthy girl. At our ultrasound in July she was awfully stubborn and wouldn't cooperate for the tech, so we have one more ultrasound on September 11. Last week her heartbeat was nice and strong and she was doing great. They did my glucose test that day. So far it's all good.
A lot has been going on around here. We finally finished her room (with what we do have) and are looking forward to adding lots of fun stuff to it. About 3 weeks ago, our world got turned a little upside down. Matt got word that his mom passed away in her sleep. It was very unexpected. We had just spoken with her the weekend before and she seemed to be doing great. So, Matt flew home for a few days to be with his dad and brother. The hardest part for both Matt and me to cope with is that his mom was so excited to be a grandma and now she won't know what it would have been like. We promised Matt's dad that Kira will know about her grandma Sherry and that we will make sure to talk about her often.
Tomorrow I am back with my new kiddos at work. I am really looking forward to a new school year, but dreading the exhaustion that comes with it. It looks like I will need a lot of naps. :)
Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support! They mean the world to us!

Over half way there till we meet our baby girl!!!
June 29, 2012
21 weeks
We are over the half way mark and only have 19 weeks to go!!! Things are starting to look a little more baby friendly around here, even though we have a ways to go. We are going this weekend to get paint for Kira's room and will begin painting in the next week or two. We are working on finding a dresser and a few other furniture pieces for her room as well. I really want things done before August, that way I can focus on school when the time comes. Anyone wanting to help paint is more than welcome! ;)
Last weekend Matt took me out shopping and got me a few maternity shirts and some pants. It feels weird to be wearing some of it now, but I know if a few months I won't have a choice.
Earlier this week I felt the baby move (more than a flutter) for the first time. It was such a wonderful feeling. Since then I have felt her a couple times.
Our next ultrasound in July 19. They want to remeasure baby girl and check that she is still a girl. Ha ha! She better be. This momma is really excited to have a girl in the house. I will update again after our next appointment.

Baby Girl!!
Wednesday, June 13
18 Weeks 5 days
Yesterday was the "big" day! We had an ultrasound to check on baby and find out the gender. It went really well, and we found out that it's a baby GIRL! I knew all along, but Matt had his doubts. :) The ultrasound was pretty good. The only problem they had, was that the ultrasound was scheduled a bit early in the pregnancy and they couldn't get very good measurements of all of baby girl's parts. She weighs about 8 oz. and was one active little baby. The minute the tech put the probe on my belly, my girl was kicking away and going crazy. I haven't felt her move yet, but when I do I am sure it will be a never ending kick fest after seeing her move yesterday. They want to get a better measurement of her, so I have another ultrasound in mid July to remeasure and I guess reconfirm that it's a girl! I made very sure before we left that they tech was sure and not just guessing. She said she was positive it was a girl and would stay a girl for the next 21 weeks! :) We went after the ultrasound and bought a few girl outfits. I just told Matt that we should save all receipts, just in case. Ha ha!
Now we get to focus on getting stuff ready for my girl! We had names picked out not too long ago and were ready for either boy or girl. So, her name is Kira Rochelle. Kira is name we loved and Rochelle is my sister Melissa's middle name. We wanted Kira to have a name special to her family and my sister was overjoyed to share her middle name. We are working on plans for the baby room. It looks like a zoo animal theme, (mostly giraffes). First I have to get in and paint the room. We are still shopping for nice furniture. I just wish I knew that babies are EXPENSIVE!!! Well, no amount of money could take the joy of knowing I am going to be a mommy in a few months away.
There are still days I wake up and wonder if it is a dream. We wanted and waited for this for so long, it's just amazing to think it's finally happening.

16 Weeks 5 days
We are only 13 days away from finding out the baby's gender. I am so excited I can hardly wait!! I am hoping for a girl, but I will be so thrilled either way!
Lately, I have really been struggling with feeling like "Is this real?". I am now at the part of my pregnancy where it is supposed to be fun and interesting. Yet, all I can do is wonder if I am really living this, or if I am living a dream. We wanted this for so long, and I started to wonder if it was even in God's plans for us at all. My biggest issues lately have been that I don't "look" pregnant. I know I won't show for a while, but it sorta makes me sad that I don't look preggo. It is hard for me to see how real this is when I don't see my body changing that much. It always helps though, to see the doctor and hear the baby's heart. I know that this is real and that God has blessed us so much, I just have to get used to it.
I am so stressed right now about how much we have to do and buy before this little one comes. I know it will all get done, it just makes me nuts thinking about the million things we have to do. With time all things will work into place!
I got really lazy in my first trimester and I decided that it wasn't okay. I worked so hard to lose 100 lbs. and then I suddenly gave it all up just because I was pregnant. So, I decided that I am going to be a fit mommy that works hard to show people that anything is possible. I got back to "running" last week. My run is very slow now, but at least I still try. I usually max out at 1.5-2 miles. I also went back to my Zumba classes and will try to keep up with my Zumba classes at least once a week. I am going to try and get up to walk the neighborhood every morning and try to get this body ready for labor and delivery.
I cannot thank those of you that have been by our side on this long journey enough. We experienced some heartache along the way, but God is so good. We are blessed with an incredible support system.
Stay tuned to my blog and facebook for the big news. Will it be boy or girl??? Hopefully little one cooperates and we can let you all know in a few days!

Peace out 1st Trimester!!!
May 7, 2012
13 W 3 days
Well, the first trimester has come to a close! I guess it can be not very fun, but mine wasn't too bad. I never really got morning sickness, just the constant feeling of pukiness! I figured out that if I let myself get hungry, that is when it got worse. So I just snacked a little throughout the day. Over Easter weekend I thought I had a bad case of morning sickness, but it turned out to be stomach flu. There for a few hours I thought I was going to die. But, I survived and so did our sweet pea! Fatigue seems to be my new best friend for this pregnancy. If I am not busy with work and school stuff, you can generally find me fast asleep on the couch.
In Week 8 of the first trimester I did have a scare. I woke up and was spotting. I initially freaked out and called the doctor nonstop for about and hour. After an exam and ultra sound everything was just fine and baby was great. I never really worried that the baby was in danger, I just kept asking the Lord to give me his peace no matter what.
So far I have only gained 4 lbs in these 13 weeks! I would love to tell you all that I have been doing a great job with great food choices and working out a lot, but...it would be a big fat lie! I am slightly disappointed in myself. I eat whatever I want and that is not like me. That is like the OLD me, but not the NEW me. I will not allow this to be my new habits. I am going to get on track and eat within moderation.
So far,I am feeling great! I go back to the doc on May 25 for my 16 week check up. June 12 will be the big day to find out the gender of the baby. We will be so happy either way and already have names ready to go!! I am stoked because we are going on Matt's birthday!
Well, fatigue has set in again! Good night all from Matt, Carla and baby Sweet Pea!!
